Carlo Alberto Campolo

Ciao! Word has it you’ve been trying to find me – looks like you made it, and I’m really happy to have you here.

Welcome to my website, a simple online summary of who I am, what I do, and why I do it.

Who am I?

My name is Carlo Alberto, but you can call me Carlo.

I moved to London in 2015 to pursue my studies at the Architectural Association, which concluded with achieving my professional qualification in November 2023.

Throughout the past years, I have had the opportunity to gain international experience working in a range of offices across the US, UK, Italy, and Austria.

In addition to my full-time job, I work as a freelance tutor and designer, utilising my knowledge to assist students and clients in achieving their visions.

What do I do?

An Architect (/ˈɑːkɪtɛkt/) is a person who is qualified to design buildings and to plan and supervise their construction.

This is the definition you get if you ask Google, but there is so much more to it.

In the UK, and similarly in many other countries, qualifying as an Architect required over 5 years of university studies, at least 24 months of work experience, and passing several professional exams. Throughout this journey, Architects develop a broad range of skills, both technical and interpersonal.

Personally, my work involves effective communication of ideas, actively listening, and reflect such feedback in new design iterations. Resulting in high-quality content such as drawings and visualisations to promote my architectural concepts.

Beyond the routine of designing and coordinating the construction of such ideas, I am passionate about the creation of spaces that enhance the way we live.

Why DO I do it?

Creativity is the expression of our soul through art.

This has been my motto for many years. It succinctly captures my perspective on creative professions such as mine, and conveys my passion for what I do daily.

Growing up, I had the opportunity to travel and explore the world, which sparked my fascination with how the identity and culture of different cities are reflected in their architecture. I have always appreciated how architecture evolves through time, deeply influenced by its historical and cultural context.

Just as an artist uses brushes and paint to create art, Architects utilise their knowledge and creativity to design purposeful and beautiful buildings. The profound impact of architecture on our daily lives inspired me to pursue a career in this field, driven by a desire to contribute to the shaping of meaningful cityscapes.
